Cornwall plays host to countless festivals, fayres, fetes, competitions and events across the year - we thought we'd feature a small selection that may coincide with your stay!

A surf and music festival based in Newquay, Boardmasters is firstly a surfing competition with some amazing surfing and skating skills on show throughout the daytime across the weekend. It really comes alive when in the afternoon when the music starts, with some fantastic local acts being showcased on the BBC Introducing Stage, and some well known names gracing the main stage towards the end of the night. After a full weekend of surfing and partying, you'll probably want to come back to the peaceful vibes of The Valley!

The Eden Project

The Eden Project is the stage for many top class events across the year including -

The Eden Sessions

World class music acts take to the stage amongst Eden's famous biomes across several events. Previous acts have included Elton John, Lionel Richie, Tom Jones, Blink182, Madness and Brian Adams!

The World Pasty Championship

Professional and amateur pasty crimpers alike gather from around the world to compete in the world pasty championships whilst there is entertainment throughout the day.

Body Factory

A celebration of the human body and art, Body Factory is a body painting competition that allows the public to choose their winner! Public viewing hours allow you to see masterpieces come to life on human models throughout the day, whilst the presentation/catwalk at the end of the day lets you see the finished pieces in all their glory, as well as vote for your favourite!

Tredinnick Steam & Vintage Rally

There are so many amazing steam and vintage events across Cornwall, but we really love the one at Tredinnick. Hosted by a dedicated committee of steam lovers, there is so much to see with events throughout the day, competitions, shows and children's entertainment. It's a chance to see history at work, with something for the whole family!

Camel River Festival

It really does have to be seen to be believed. The Camel River Festival is a full day of food, drink, music and most importantly - a raft river race. Local teams of hopefuls band together to build and create outlandish, crazy and kooky makeshift rafts in order to compete in the race. Previous team entries have included themes of Ghostbusters, Spongebob Squarepants and many more! A good laugh for everyone involved with tons of locally sourced food, drink and music!
