Surf!

surf1 surf2

Polzeath is home to some of the best surf schools in the UK. We recommend booking in advance, as they're in high demand!

Walk!

The Southwest Coastpath is an experience in itself, with plenty of photo opportunities and chances to take in some magnificent scenery. Polzeath offers differing choices for casual or challenging walks depending on your mood.

For more information on local coastal walks, visit the official south west coast path website - http://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/

Cycle!

You could bring you bike along to the park and cycle your way around to pick up a coffee from The Valley Bar & Cafe in the morning, or you could finally teach those younger ones how to pedal without stabilisers. Either way, bicycles are more than welcome on the park.

If you have some cycling wanderlust, we recommend visiting one of two places -

The Camel Trail (Wadebridge to Padstow)

A scenic relaxing ride along the old railway line from Wadebridge to Padstow. If you can't bring your own bike, there are plenty of cycle hires at either end. You can either start in Wadebridge and cycle to the harbour town of Padstow - or - for the more adventurous who want to make a full day of it, catch the ferry from Rock with or without your bike (there is an extra fee for taking bikes) and start with a browse around the harbour town of Padstow, cycle to Wadebridge and stop for lunch, then cycle back to Padstow to catch the ferry back to Rock! For extra active points you could even walk to the ferry along the coastpath from Polzeath for the ultimate day of soaking up the scenery along the Camel Estuary.

Cardinham Cycle Trails

For those who seek more adventure with their cycling - head inland to the beautiful Cardinham Woods. Owned by the forestry commission, they have overseen the introduction of graded cycle tracks.
